...which is likely to have happened 25 or so years ago. After watching the video about a hundred times, we managed to see them at one of the arenas. (Lee says it was Hartford.)
Fast forward to a week or so ago and Lee asked if I wanted to see them again. Yes!!! I do!!! Jen got the tickets for us and, oh my God, they were front row seats. I managed to get one photo at the start with my phone. The curtain and TSO sign lifted and the musicians stood right at the edge of the stage. As a guitarist, myself, I really enjoyed watching their fingers dance across the fret boards.
As they announced and requested no photos or videos during the concert, I put my phone away...Most everyone else took pictures. Oh, well. As one musician to another, for the most part, I complied.
But, here's my shot from the front row seats looking back at the crowd behind us...
At one point, security walked past us and told us that it would be OK to stand and not get too close to the barrier because of the pyrotechnics. Wow... what good advice that was. When the flames started shooting out the heat was something else. And, they even made it snow at one point. Simply amazing.
They did play their signature Wizards song. I was beside myself.
The concert was based on a theme they've done before, The Lost Christmas Eve. At one point, I had tears in my eyes. At many other points, I was delirious with joy and gratitude.
If you've never seen TSO in concert, you must plan to do so.
